Millennium Development Target #1c: “Reduce by half the proportion of people who suffer from hunger” (UNDP)

Some 18,000 children die every day because of hunger and malnutrition and 850 million people go to bed every night with empty stomachs. Especially for children, adequate nutrition is a priority need to survive. Therefore, the majority of the daily budget of low-income families is spent on food. In addition, much time and energy goes into worrying about food: will there be enough for tomorrow, will my children get enough nutrients to grow-up healthy or will the crops survive droughts or floods. These worries prevent people from thinking about their future. They simply worry about how to survive every single day.

Challenge
To develop social agri-business projects that contribute to the need for affordable and healthy food that is produced in a sustainable way.
